What this is
Vocal4Locals lists local businesses so that somebody looking for a trade can find one and ring them. A customer searches, sees which shops have been checked, asks for a number, and calls. That is the whole product.
It is being built city by city, starting with Ahmedabad, and category by category. The directory says plainly how much of it is filled in, because a directory that pretends to be complete is one you stop trusting the first time you look something up and find nothing.
What a listing can say about itself

Listed, but nobody has claimed it or checked anything. This is how a shop starts if we added it.
- Owner signed up
You have claimed the listing, so it is yours to edit. Your documents have not been read yet.
- Verified business
You sent documents and somebody here read them. This is the badge a customer is looking for.
Why the fee model is the way it is
Most platforms in this category take a share of the work they send you, which means the more you earn the more they take, and it means they have a reason to sit between you and your customer. We charge a subscription to be listed and take nothing out of a job. That is a smaller business for us and a straighter one for a shop owner.
What we never charge for
- A commission on a job. Not on the first, not on the hundredth.
- A fee per lead, per call, or per time somebody sees your number.
- Verification. Sending documents and being checked is free.
- Ranking. There is no paid placement, and there will not be one without this page saying so first.
What we are not pretending
Four things that are true of this product today and do not flatter it. They are here because a company that will not name them is a company you cannot check.
The directory is new and most listings are shops we found rather than shops that signed up.
The subscription price is not set yet, and no shop has been charged anything.
Verification is a document check. It is not a judgement about anyone’s work.
We are not in a position to guarantee a shop any business, and we do not.
The trades we document
Each of these has a page setting out what the work covers and what to establish before you book it. These are the ones written so far.
AC Repair & Service
Split and window AC servicing, gas refilling, installation and annual maintenance contracts. Most shops charge a visit fee and adjust it against the repair if you go ahead.
Electricians
Wiring, switchboards, MCB and fuse work, fans, lights and inverters. Anything that runs behind a wall is worth asking about twice, because the cost of getting it wrong is not the repair bill.
House Cleaning
One-off deep cleaning, regular upkeep, and move-in or move-out cleaning. Deep cleaning is priced by the size of the home far more often than by the hour, so the number of people and hours is worth establishing.
Plumbers
Taps, leaks, blockages, bathroom fittings, motors and overhead tanks. A leak that has been running for weeks is a different job from one that started this morning, and it is worth saying which you have.
Tiffin Services
Home-style meals delivered daily to a home or an office, usually on a monthly plan. Most kitchens run one fixed menu, so the useful questions are about what is in a standard meal and what happens when you are away.
